Substitution product Google – part 1

Search Engine Optimization everyday life might currently hardly easier. The daily work exclusively on the search engine Google, who focused covers over 90% of the market. And even in the professionals, this market shares shall be considered set, often discussed only a margin to the top.

However, I name such discussions again caution. Because as soon as Google could increase the market share some years ago, they can be again lost. In the first part of my two-part series, I would like to discuss four key success factors of the Google search engine.

In the second part I would like to meet then the question, why in the past also highly subsidized projects have failed, ask Google to market share. Essentially the product search engine is actually very simple. You must list only the information requested a user via specific keywords. But now to the Google search engine success factors:

Score 1 – quality: The probably most important factor is the quality of search results. Although even today still often the quality leaves can be, but still is no competitor able to deliver better results. It’s not only to assessing the relevance but also to evaluate what kind of information initiate the keywords, what additional information may be of interest to clean up manipulations.

Factor 2 – speed: there is essentially only a phrase now each Professor red would continue, but the practice of the modern information society makes speed one of the success factors of successful Internet projects. Google is still one of the fastest, if not even the fastest search engine at all.

Factor 3 – usability: One USPS at all is the usability. On the home page of Google there are no annoying banner or similar items. We concentrate on the essentials and has one first recognized usability does not mean to make a W3C compliant layout but to provide exactly the user what it calls. In addition extends the result lists by paid advertising. Especially when searching for products or services like Queen feature.

Factor 4 – branding: Google is kult! Google is not only one of the most popular employers worldwide, but is also extremely to its brand image. Lovingly designed Doodles impressively demonstrate it is rather loose players under the other competitors. Also expressions such as “Google” show, which state the search engine now has in society.”

Clearly, the individual factors an impressive technology behind each, these alone not helps Google but to succeed permanently. Next to the giant servers must there be other things, the Google have helped to success. What are this and whether they or Google chat can you learn in the second part.
