Prohibits storing IP addresses
Berlin was prohibited from now by judgment of the Court of the Federal Ministry of Justice to save the IP addresses of website visitors. Currently it is only to a single user data in the judgment, because the judgment is now final, it may be that these implications in the future.
The Foundation should the judgment really, so that in future no IP address more may be stored? That would be a problem for the entire Web analytics tools because many measurements involving at least the IP address. Pure measurement via cookies can do even without IP, but a geo mapping is then more can’t currently.
For me is the question whether the ruling concerns only recording IP addresses. May the grey area is the data evaluate and then delete. Whether that would be, however, within the meaning of the claimant is also questionable.
