Paper is to patient

The media landscape is constantly changing. Previously informed newspapers about important events of the day, it’s the Internet today. Even if many do not want to admit it, camera phone, Twitter and DSL are faster than pencil, paper and printer roller…

The following graphic shows beautifully as the Internet or the Messenger service Twitter has made the media landscape on the head. Instead the information chain on radio, television and newspapers, current events now spread via the Internet Twitter and other social networks:

The biggest losers of this development are the print media. To date fixed information chain, also known newspapers have now hardly a chance is in beat the Internet terms of timeliness.

Just yesterday the search engine giant Google rejected the clemency of numerous European publishing houses with a simple blog post and they pointed straight, not Google, but technological progress for whose fate was responsible.

In my opinion it is exactly this technical progress which already dead thought newspapers could give back new life. Publishers should not constantly try to resist, against technical progress but this use to improve their shown above in the information chain.

I personally would try share printer rollers against newspaper vending machines, which not only once a day, but updated minute messages on paper bring. Can Twitter and co. hard better pen and paper make slightly faster…
