Links of the week – podcasts, 404, Christmas and more
The first advent is imminent and therefore I must grow today even the lights etc.
So I have not so much time here long write discharges.
This week there were a few interesting links, although it was somewhat quiet this week. But looks itself.
Podcast study
Who interested to support his business with a podcast, which find some interesting facts in the recent podcast study of Podcast.com.
This large-scale study evaluated age, interests, media usage etc. Including preferences relating to the length of podcast and topics which are most popular, are presented.
The study and large concludes that Podcastnutzer very difficult to reach have classic media. This communication channel is of course interesting for companies.
Whether the study with 216 participants is really so meaningful, I leave open times.

The bobs
What sounds a little like a men magazine are Deutsche Welle Blog Awards 2008.
There have been awarded the prize winners in the 16 categories now. Not very surprising of course political issues play an important role.

Make good use 404 pages
The BlogTrainer has written an interesting article about the use of 404 error pages.
404 Error occurs when a URL has been called, or no longer exists. For example because there is a broken link or simply no longer exists that page.
In the article are possibilities discussed, how these pages differently designed, so that you don’t lose those users.
SEO options
SEO DOMAIN.COM called again elections to the SEO. 5 Nominated sites/blogs/people etc. are available in 12 categories.
Previously voted per category between 430 and 540 people. The elections run until the 2.12. and the winners get even a few small prizes.
10 Million new photos
The life magazine has made 10 million photos Google image search available. This is pictures from around 150 years and makes things very interesting.
The photos are free for private use. All you must do is where Google images search enter the following:

Christmas themes
Who wants to quickly set up a Christmas blog, which should be DOMAIN.COM umsehene. There, the author lists 6 Weihnachtsthemes with which you can quickly set up a seasonal blog.
So, one could use the weeks before Christmas to present a few nice gifts with affiliate link every day.
With Iceburgg like best, but this is certainly a matter of taste.
Google in the crisis?
As was now known, Google wants to reduce its headcount allegedly 30,000 to around 20,000.
This history throws a not so beautiful light on Google. Because you stopped approximately 10,000 employees as temporary workers. This is beneficial because you have to pay them no health insurance and these can be cancelled at any time.
It has achieved by one permanently puts these people from one place to the next.
But even if the economic crisis to Google passes I wonder how so just saving supposedly one third of its workforce.
Therefore remains to be seen whether so many must go or whether Google simply put the belt more closely and optimized a bit.
Google should have but really big problems by the economic crisis then that affects security-the entire industry.
Three in one
Website developers must test their creations on multiple browsers to prevent errors. So you installed different browsers generally.
Now there is the browser Lunascape5 Genesis, has installed a total of 3 browser engines.
Firefox’s Gecko engine, the Trident engine from IE and the WebKit engine, which is used chrome and Safari are.
Thus without can change the browser, test the own sites on the main engines.
Lunascape also supports such things as mouse gestures, tab browsing, skins, RSS, podcasts, plugins and other neat stuff.
All in all a browser which starts very quickly and very interesting looks. However, the version 5 is still in alpha stages and therefore still not completely perfect.

DOMAIN.COM now sold such as Andreas reported. Unfortunately the purchase price will not be published, but Andreas will write a site at least times about his experiences on the sale of one or other items.
This could be quite interesting precisely assessing Web sites is not easy matter.
