How to Start a Blog
I received an email few hours ago. I have been asked how to start a blog? So I thought why not I post few tips here on my blog instead I reply back the email to him/her. Very simple, firstly I would like to advise you to seek the recipes for success and what you want to blog about. I mean blog about something you know well than others. And you should not pick a topic which has been discussed so many times earlier because people are increasingly interested in this phenomenon and are trying to achieve something in this field which is very good both for readers & publishers.
Why do you want to start a blog?
Let me ask you why do you want to start a blog? Or what could be the possible intention to do this? But at the same time I must ask you! Are you feeling problems and find yourself in trouble when you want to do it?
Ok! If so, I would suggest few tips for your help so you can take a good start with your blog.
You wish to share your life and keep a small diary?
Ordinarily a blog is an online diary or memoir. Like you record happenings in your personal life and at the end you draw conclusions, may be you find yourself successful or maybe you are upset etc… I will say that normally blogs like these are not attractive but some are interested in niches for example blogging, money on the net, tutorials, freebies, etc… which are very cool and attractive. But the main concern is that maybe your blog does not meet the requirement of others; anyway few peoples love to read all sorts of personal stuff.
Your specialties in field, and want a blog for your specialties?
You can start your blog and constantly add content. Let’s suppose your specialties are web development. You can write about web development, you can post tutorials, you can write about nuclear physics or whatever you like. Again, as I described about content’s importance in my previous post “Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Tips for Beginners” that original content and well written will help you and your blog can become an authority and this will bring positive results.
A blog should be interesting and well written to attract, you should introduce yourself as an honest and interesting person.
You just need to write
Many of us feel guilty when we are about to start every new article… Do not hesitate; just type whatever you want to share with others in your field. You have language skill problems. Try to express your ideas in English if your mother language is different. Don’t fear about, just type and publish it. I myself feel guilty to write because my mother language is not English but I write it down whatever came in my mind. I am OK with my English but my English skills are not good enough in case of articles only.
There are some who would appreciate that you have a blog. And there will be so many who do not know what it is.
Your blog can be something if you make it interesting. People, who will read, will appreciate. You will get their comments for it and they will encourage you to keep going with it.
You want to make money?
My advice: do not give resign from the job that you already have. It is clear that even after we are all interested in the monetization. There is a prude and I recognize that, in time, I would like to make an honest penny. A blog involves a lot of work (at least one seriously). When it grows, it is likely to flourish and people become interested in advertising on it. I do not know how many of us honestly say we have a potential client on the blog banner. Not in the beginning but finally an interesting blog is going to earn money for you. Do not start from the promise that you will make tens of millions per month from the blog.
You want a huge traffic?
I am myself very crazy about huge traffic. But this will make problems for you. You might find your server hosting account suspended for your site when you get huge traffic. There is a limit any server can afford for number of visitors per second. So you will have to run your own server to overcome this problem. It is best for you to start with your own server right from the beginning to have a quality and fast speed blog for the convenience of the visitors. You should not lose them with slow speed blog. For this you will have to keep in mind the expenses.
Conclusion
A blog that works exclusively on quality and unique content, written for readers and for search engines (avoiding use of keywords which no one is going to search) will monetize faster. And you should be aware of the limits about that topic which has been discussed so many times earlier. So there are certain topics which you should keep in mind. You can write about anything, no matter how “questionable” it is, but it should attract visitors?
