Google Analytics now with opt-out and IP masking
Google has now responded to the debate on data protection and offers the possibility of the opt-out and masking IP addresses recently. The opt-out is a somewhat unusual way Google and offer this feature as a browser plugin. What seems somewhat strange at first sight is ideal from the perspective of the user. Install a plugin once and never again be tracked on any page of Google Analytics. So you must not rely, website operators themselves offer a way of the opt-out and implement. To start, there is the plugin for IE, Firefox and Google chrome. Install and that’s with Google Analytics.
Now I’m very curious as most developed. My advice is that this plugin is very quickly among the top plugins on all platforms. Download of the plugin.
Additionally, Google has released now a code extension with which it is possible to mask the IP address or delete parts of the IP address. This indeed affected the geolocation but not completely thrown over Board. To achieve this function, you need to call only function _anonymizeIp() _gat object simply:
_gat._anonymizeIp();
