Can Google Urchin die
Urchin is the original software which later became Google Analytics. Google wanted to then distribute Urchin further than software that you yourself can host and can evaluating log files, which is a very important factor for many companies. Now it is speculated at various points whether Google has still an interest to keep this version of Urchin.
Ars Technica reported a support Odyssey. Urchin customers were promised updates never received. Support requests to bugs that exist since the beginning until today not been solved.
Certainly Google Analytics the engine on-demand solution is and of course much more suitable collect the data as a software that is hosted on customer servers. Should Google however have interest in eventually play in the premium area, then they shouldn’t miss as soon as possible an update Urchin. Particularly for customers from the financial or insurance I fixed, there are great scruples using Google Analytics. I can’t say whether this concerns are permitted. I can understand it but always.
